Monthly virtual meetup

Short talks from members, open networking and a co-founder matching round.

← All resources · 3 min read · Updated October 2026

Once a month, members meet online for an hour to learn from each other, share leads and meet potential collaborators. It's free for approved members.

The format

  • Welcome and new members (10 minutes). A quick round of introductions for people joining for the first time.
  • Member talks (20 minutes). Two short talks from members: a lesson from a job search, a contract project, a technical deep-dive or a startup update.
  • Breakout networking (20 minutes). Small rooms of four or five people, grouped by specialty or by what you're looking for.
  • Co-founder matching round (10 minutes). Members with an idea give a 60-second pitch, and anyone interested follows up afterwards.

Dates and how to join

Meetups are announced to members by email and in the community Activity feed, with the date, time and video link. The first dates will be shared as soon as the schedule is set.

Give a talk

We're always looking for speakers. Talks are 8–10 minutes, informal and practical. Slides are optional. Post your idea in the Career transition or Startup corner group, or email hello@restarthub.org.

Ground rules

Meetups follow the community guidelines. Please don't record other members or share their details without permission, and keep sales pitches for the matching round.

Questions or tips to add? Members discuss this in the community groups. Share what worked for you.
