Who we are
RestartHub (restarthub.org) is a community for technology professionals affected by layoffs and for companies looking for experienced help. Questions about privacy: hello@restarthub.org.
What we collect
- Professionals: name, username, email, experience level, LinkedIn profile, location, work authorization and visa sponsorship needs, role, skills and what you are open to.
- Companies: company name, contact name and title, address, phone, email, company LinkedIn page and website, and what you are interested in.
- Activity: posts, group membership, messages and projects you create on the site.
- Technical data: standard server logs and cookies needed to keep you logged in and the site secure.
Why we collect it
- To review and approve accounts and keep the community trusted.
- To let approved members and companies find and contact each other.
- To send account emails, such as activation, approval and notifications you choose.
- To keep the site secure and prevent spam.
Who can see your information
- Profiles are visible to approved members only, never to the public or search engines.
- Work authorization, visa sponsorship, phone and address are shown only in the members-only talent pool and to moderators. They are never shown on public pages.
- Moderators can see the details you give at sign-up to approve your account.
- We do not sell your information. We share it only with service providers that run the site (hosting, email delivery, backups) or when the law requires it.
Your choices
- Edit or hide profile fields from your profile settings.
- Turn email notifications on or off in your settings.
- Delete your account at any time from your settings, or email us and we will remove it.
- Ask us for a copy of your information.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account we remove your profile and personal details; backups are overwritten within 30 days.
Security
The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), regular updates, spam protection and backups. No website is completely secure, so please don’t share information you would not want others to see.
